Ashbourne residents support their local air ambulance
Event date:
03/12/2011
On Saturday 3rd December Ashbourne Town Crier Bill Hall and
Councillor Caroline Cooper visited the DLRAA airbase to present a
cheque to the crew. They were also joined by Caroline's son Stuart
Cooper who had been in need of the services of the DLRAA last year
after a sporting accident.

They had raised a fantastic £1450 for the charity by holding a
charity auction and also a disco in aid of DLRAA. Along with
raising vital funds they have also been helping to raise awareness
of the service in the town of Ashbourne with the Town Crier even
tweeting about his visit!
Fundraising Manager, Sophie Stevens, said: "It is great to
receive the on-going support of Bill and Caroline in raising funds
and awareness for DLRAA. With just one mission costing the charity
on average £1400 this donation could potentially save someone's
life."
