On 21st April some of the crew from the Derbyshire Leicestershire & Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA) will be swapping their helicopter for a host of Supercars and they are inviting the public to come along and join them at the Air Ambulance Ultimate Driving Day.
 
The special fundraising Supercar day will take place at Everyman Motor Racing, Prestwold Hall, Loughborough and all profits will go towards keeping DLRAA flying high and saving lives.
 
HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service) Doctor, Dhushy Kumar commented, “I’m really excited to be swapping our super helicopter for a supercar for the day and enjoying driving round the track. This really is a wonderful opportunity to drive some fabulous cars, have a great day out and help your local Air Ambulance to keep flying and saving lives.
 
“A DLRAA team took part last and thoroughly enjoyed it, so much so, many are joining in again this year. May the best man or woman win!”
 
Each guest will have the chance to join a team with the Air Ambulance crew or compete against them and participants can enter teams of six or individually and be put into a team.
 
Guests will then have the opportunity to watch captivating driving demonstrations, then fulfil their dream and drive a selection of superfast Supercars.
 
Participants will have the chance to get behind the wheel and drive three Supercars, an Audi R8, Lambourghini, Ferarri, and have a passenger ride with an experienced instructor. As if that isn’t enough they can also drive 4 x 4 & Rally vehicles. There will also be a selection of driving games and competitions, which will test technical expertise, agility and speed.
 
The exhilarating day will start with a complimentary breakfast, with tea, coffee and pastries served at Prestwold Hall, before starting the driving experience.  Then participants can sit back and relax with a free two course lunch also served at the house.
 
The day would usually cost £800 each, however Everyman Motor Racing are offering places for only £295 each or, if you pull together a team of six it is only £1,700 per team.
