Air Ambulance Supporters Group

Why we need you?

To raise awareness of the Air Ambulance and increase donations through forming a Volunteer Supporters Group and having a presence in your local community.

 

What will I be doing?

There are a range of activities available to our Volunteer Supporter Groups, including:

  • Liaising with supporters of the charity.
  • Arranging local events e.g. bag packs, coffee mornings etc.
  • Being a key contact for funeral directors.
  • Helping out with specific charity campaigns e.g. National Air Ambulance Day.
  • Acting as ambassadors for the charity.
  • Specifically, raising awareness of the charity and being local ambassadors.

 

What skills and attributes do I need?

  • Ideally, you will have a group of friends/family/colleagues/acquaintances to form into a fundraising group that will represent the charity in your area.
  • Access to a telephone and e-mail.
  • Good communication skills and friendly demeanour.
  • Willingness to represent the charity in a variety of ways & at a variety of levels.
  • Good numeracy skills in order to keep accurate records of funds.
  • The ability to work well with your designated staff partner.
  • Enthusiasm for the work of the Air Ambulance is vital to this role.
  • You may wish to designate certain tasks to different group members depending on their specific skills set.

 

How much time do I need to commit?

Volunteer Supporter Groups are an essential part of a charity and in that respect you will be the 'face of the charity' and will need to commit a significant amount of time to ensuring your group is well established and maintained.

What support will I be given?

  • We will give you a full induction on all aspects of this role.
  • Any appropriate materials to support your groups role e.g. collecting tins, receipt book, paying-in book, record sheets, charity stationery, merchandise and identification.
  • We will provide you with continuous support, advice and guidance.

Where will I be based?

Most of your work will involve being out and about and representing the charity in your local community but you will need to hold regular meetings as a group in a venue suitable to your needs.
